Sergei Bodrov, Director of "Mongol"Sergei Vladimirovich Bodrov made his acting debut in 1960 in a Russian film called "The First Date". He directed "The Voices of War" in 1974 and then spent some time as a journalist working in the 1970s for the satirical magazine Krokodil during the time of the Soviet Union. His latest work is a biopic of the early years of Temudgin, or Genghis Khan as we commonly know him. Selected to appear the 2008 Seattle International Film Festival, "Mongol" has caused a few controversies about how this legendary historical figure is viewed. Deirdre Timmons, Director of "A Wink and a Smile"Deirdre Timmons is the director and producer of a new documentary about the venerable entertainment form of Burlesque. She followed ten Seattle women who enrolled in Miss Indigo Blue's Burlesque training school. "A Wink and a Smile" marks Deirdre's directing debut and has been accepted for screening at the Seattle International Film Festival 2008. Director Alexandre DereimsAlexandre Dereims is the director of "A Secret Genocide", a documentary on the genocide perpetrated by the Burmese military junta on the Karen ethnic group, which made a major impact at SIFF 2007.
